Start of the Season - May 13, 2026
Hi Swim Team Families,
We are officially 10 days away from our first practice of the season on May 13! There will be lots of excitement, first practice jitters, successes and some fails, but most of all, we hope your family is ready for a fun season of summer swim team. This email will contain as much information about the summer season as possible. Most importantly, the season calendar is attached. If you are a planner, the calendar will help put you in your happy place.
Communication
- Each Sunday, we will send out a weekly email with reminders of upcoming dates and deadlines for the week. Those will begin with the first week of practice.
- Group Me - if you are new to the team or like to keep up with any and all swim team info, use the link or QR code below to join - CCSC New Parents.
https://groupme.com/join_group/114689238/1i45SHCY
- Swimtopia - the Swimtopia platform has an app that you can download for the 2026 season. It offers live time results of the meets and projected times when your swimmer is about to race. The team will use Swimtopia for immediate one-way communication during a swim meet.
- For each swim meet, you will need to let the team know if your swimmer(s) will or will not be swimming in the meet. This is done on the Swimtopia Platform - ccsccrocs.swimtopia.com/swim_meets - Meets are open now for you to go ahead and check that off of your to-do list.
- If something comes up and your RSVP status changes, please let us know ASAP - a sick kid on the day of a meet, initially not able to come…but now can - any change in status can impact the meet lineup.
- The reservation system is set up to default to NO for every swimmer who does not declare their status, so make sure if your child is swimming, you register them for the swim meet by the deadline each week.
First Week of Practice
- Bring extra towels and warm clothes for the littles. May is warm, but those early evenings can sometimes be cold, so it’s always a good idea to be prepared.
- Pick up Team Shirt, Towel and Cap - this season we are giving the Team Gift to our swimmers at the beginning of the season, so that they can enjoy it throughout the season.
- If new, or need a refresher, attend the Meet Walkthrough on May 13 at 5:20pm and 6:30pm to learn how swim meets work and the importance of parent volunteers.
- Practices are not mandatory, but your swimmer will improve in their skills and bond with the team the more they attend. If they can’t come to a practice(s), send an email to [email protected] as a heads up so the coaches can plan for practices.
- The first practices will be focused on learning swimmers’ names, skill assessment of strokes and safe diving practices off of the starting blocks.
- Weather - Georgia has its own mind on the weather situation…so we often have to pivot with practice plans for kids. If it is cool, but not raining, the littles will have dry land practice and need to come in loose fitting clothes and close-toed shoes. If raining, age group practices will be cancelled individually to accommodate the changing weather. Emails will be sent 30 minutes prior to practice letting the team know that practice is changed to dryland or cancelled due to weather.
