Hi Parents!Afternoon practices for Summer Swim Team start tomorrow! The coaches spent all last week training with Mrs. DuFore and Mrs. Beard and are excited to get in the water. There are some changes to how we will conduct practices, parent seating and where to pick up and drop off swimmers (for those old enough to be dropped off/ picked up by a parent).

Our HOA (on recommendation from the Fire Marshall) has asked that we limit the number of non-swimmers on deck during practices as much as possible. We recognize that younger swimmers (6U and 7/8) might feel more comfortable, as well as parents, with mom/dad close by. Please see the attached map for where parents can be located on deck during practices. The area where the swimmers and coaches will be is circled in green. We are keeping 3 sides of the pool clear of parents so that the coaches can keep track of swimmers at both ends of the pool. Also, the shallow end of the pool gets crowded when there are parents, non-swimming kids and then swimmers and coaches all at the same end. Parents are also welcome to sit on covered patio, which will be a really nice location when it gets hot over the summer. If you have little ones not swimming, they can always play at the playground. Feel free to bring sidewalk chalk and bubbles. At the conclusion of your swimmers' practice, we ask that you and your child(ren) exit the pool deck to minimize people on deck. For swimmers who arrive early, they are permitted to be on deck where the parents are located, but must be seated - no running around, chasing one another/playing games. Once practice is over, they need to leave the pool deck as well and be picked up by the parent/guardian to return home.

Slide and shallow entry/ splash pool are OFF-LIMITS during swim team practices and events. There will be personnel on duty from AMS pool management to ensure that the slide and shallow entry/splash pool are not utilized during swim team practices. This is a Swim Team Policy and is also being requested by the HOA and must be respected. 

If you are going to Drop-off and pickup your OLDER swimmer, this will be at the basketball courts - see attached picture. This helps alleviate any type of backup from tennis pickup/drop-off which happens by the playground. Please arrive on time to pick your swimmer up at the conclusion of their practice session.

Please understand that we will make adjustments to the above plan as needed during the summer as we fine-tune our new processes. Thank you for being patient. 

Remind - Please make sure that 1 person in your household has joined the Remind Group for the season - text @ccsccrocs to 81010 to join - for now, this is how we will send out information about inclement weather, cancelled practices or last minute changes. You can either just join through texting or you can download the Remind app and join that way. 

Inclement Weather - on days that the weather is rainy/stormy/unsafe, be prepared for last minute changes to the practice schedule. It is beyond our control if the weather prevents the kids from getting into the pool. If practices are cancelled, please come to pick up your swimmers from the pool.

Swimtopia - Our website platform, Swimtopia, also has a mobile app. Please go ahead and download this app - it will be useful for swim meet days. Use the same login information that you used for registering your swimmers. We will begin using this app this season and will possibly migrate completely away from Remind. There is a PRO version, that is only $9.99 for the season that has valuable features - not necessary, but nice to have.

TOMORROW - 6U - swimmers need to come in comfortable play clothes and tennis shoes. No swimming. The time will be spent playing games and getting to know the coaches. 

TOMORROW - 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15-18 - all swimmers should come to practice with a towel (and an extra), goggles and swim cap. 

Spirit Wear - spirit wear has arrived and may be distributed as early as tomorrow, but will start to be available for pickup by the Swim Closet (under the pool pavilion) by Tuesday. 

**We will place a final spirit wear order by Friday of this week - as long as we reach the 25 minimum. If you missed ordering during registration, you can give Amy Beard or Jen DuFore your order this week at practice or you can email your order. Details of prices and how to pay will be sent out later this week.
